El Corte Inglés increases its range of water filters with TAPP
With a consumption of 141 liters of bottled water per capita per year, Portugal is among the countries that consume the most bottled water. According to Eurostat figures, only 35% of all bottles used are recycled while the rest remain unrecycled. What is more serious, according to the Zero Environmental Association, is that Portugal only recycles 12% of the plastic used in urban contexts. The average amount of bottled water consumed in each Portuguese household is almost 1000 bottles per year which generates around 250kg of carbon footprint (CO2), 50kg of plastic waste and 2000 litres of wasted water.
