At TAPP Water we believe in innovation as a force to change our daily consumption habits, in order to protect present and future generations.
Single-use plastic bottles and bottled water production are damaging our ecosystems, endangering underwater life and contaminating the food chain.
Our mission is to create convenient, sustainable and affordable products that eliminate the need for bottled water.

TAPP Water started in 2014 when Magnus from Sweden and Alex from Germany decided to create a simpler and more affordable way for consumers to have access to clean, safe water in their homes.
TAPP Water solves the four main problems with drinking tap water in Portugal:
TASTE - In Portugal, 30% of households consume bottled water, and most of these people do not like the taste of tap water, even if it meets all EU safety standards.
PLASTIC BOTTLES - In Portugal alone, more than 720 million plastic bottles are used each year (figure from July 2020). A large part of this plastic is never recycled and ends up in landfills or is discarded. We all know this in Portugal, because we see plastic bottles everywhere, on the beach, in the water, in the countryside, on the street. It can't be good, right?
With each passing year, the accumulation of plastic in the seas increases. Each bottle of this material takes around 450 years to decompose, which leads experts to believe that by 2050 there will be more plastic than fish in the oceans.
MICROPLASTIC - When plastic enters our environment, it often ends up in our water system as microplastics, which we can then end up drinking. This means that our bodies will be contaminated with BPA and phathalates, the long-term impact of which we do not yet understand.

COST AND TIME - Consumers have to buy, transport the bottles from the store to their homes and then store and dispose of the bottles. For this they pay almost 1000 times more than for tap water.
TAPP 2 is the first smart, biodegradable water filter produced for Europe and North America, which anyone can install, providing clean, fresh water directly from the tap, in a sustainable way.
